Summary:

This position will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing Horizon Lines and Horizon Logistics Oracle applications as well as Hyperion Planning and Essbase. The person who fills this role will get assigned tasks via HelpCaptain tickets, directly from his/her supervisor, or from the Manager of Finance and Operations Applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist in development and documentation related to new functionality development and production support activity.
  2. Develop and document custom software extensions to Oracle financials.
  3. Develop and document new custom applications
  4. Develop and document new reports, screens, and stored procedures
  5. Understand functionalities in specific Oracle financial modules
  6. Participate in the technical design and documentation stage of the development process
  7. Test software code to ensure its suitability for implementation in a production environment.
  8. Communicate with business users to understand business requirements
  9. Work with 3rd party vendors and associated technical support teams to solve tickets
  10. Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the client/customer.

Supervision
May provide specific task direction to staff but does not have formal Supervisory responsibility.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Coursework or experience in the following a plus:

  • Oracle Forms Builder
  • Oracle Report Builder
  • BI Publisher
  • Oracle Discoverer
  • Java
  • Pro C
  • PL SQL
  • Oracle Applications Framework
  • T-SQL – Stored procedures and one-time queries
  • Oracle Financials RDBMS knowledge
  • eBusiness Suite Release 12 knowledge
  • Computer Skills

Must have advanced working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word
Processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook.
